Available Position

My name is Carlyle Walton and I currently serve as the Vice Chair of the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce. The board has asked me to chair the search committee for our new permanent President/CEO for the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce. Carla Hawkins, our current interim CEO is doing a great job and will be one of the candidates who will be considered for the permanent role. I seek your continued support of her leadership, until a permanent CEO is named.

We are seeking a permanent President/CEO of the chamber, who must ideally be a community-oriented professional with leadership experience to provide clear direction, collaboration and strategic planning to the Chamber and its members. The person must be well organized and have a good understanding of governmental/non-governmental, and for profit/non-profit organizations with knowledge of business and economic development issues.

We are desirous to follow the selection process by sharing this opportunity with our chamber members and on all media formats. The search committee, comprised of representation from all communities in Sumter County, is scheduled to meet on Monday, December 9, 2024.
